I'm paranoid about safety, and won't do any work that's dangerous to either me, you or, more importantly, members of the public. I have the BBC Safety Passport.

A Safety Certificate is an indication that this subject is taken seriously and responsibly. Make sure you hire someone with such a certificate. In particular, it could affect your insurance if there's an accident and the crane doesn't have a valid certificate.

Don't worry, I'm game for most things, but it's important that you know I take this very seriously.

Cutting corners is not a cheap option.  Do it right and do it well. Your commissioning editor will love you for taking the time, trouble and effort to find someone who can do it.
