How to do business with Keith Brook
You'll find, when you call me, that I'm very reasonable about how I do business. My quotes are usually all-in and I give you a fair price for a fair day's work.
However, there are a few things you should know.
My quotes are based on the details you give me. In many cases, if the details change, my price won't. However, if those details are significantly different from the time of the quote, I'll discuss this with you and see if you wish to go ahead. Primarily, I may charge you overtime if the hours are quite different, and I may charge you for a hotel if I can't safely drive because of the over-run. The rate is GBP 50 (approx EUR 55/USD 75) per hour in half hour segments. The hotel will be charged at cost.
There's a tiny minority of companies who pay late. Most of my clients pay by return. So, just for the few late payers, my terms are 30 days from date of invoice IN MY BANK (BACS and IBAN details are on the invoice and BACS payments are immediate since June 2008). Please, no 'cheques in the post'. If you must pay by cheque then deduct 5 days from the 30 for postage and clearance.
IMPORTANT: From day 31, I'll charge interest at 5% per WEEK compounded. You'll receive weekly invoices for these charges. If you don't like this, don't book me. If you book me, then you've agreed to this.
There really is no excuse for late payments. If you have a cashflow problem, then you should have talked to me before booking me. If you think it's smart to pay late then you'll quickly struggle to find the talent to work for you and you'll lose business. That's not a saving at all.
I pay my suppliers promptly and I expect you to do the same.
